We are family that loves to travel. Every new trip means also quality time for the three of us. When we decided to go to Sri Lanka, at first we were a little afraid because the trip is rather long. We researched all the details, read a lot of blogs armed ourselves with patience and decided to go anyway. We can tell you that it was a good decision! Our baby was amazingly calm during the flight, she had her mommy and daddy by her side and our full attention, everything went perfect. When we got there, everything was new for all of us. We had no Jetlag at all, we were so excited that we spent the whole day walking through Columbo. We didn’t even realize there was time change of plus 5 hours. It was so exciting to experience this beautiful city through the eyes of our baby. Some things that she noticed and found interesting would probably be unnoticeable for us if we were traveling without her. The two things that she liked most were Tuk-Tuk rides, probably because of the sound and the wind that went through her hair and the second thing was the festival with more then 20 elephants walking through the crowded streets of Columbo. She loved the elephants so much, and she called them ‚Muu-muu‘ Because of that we decided to have a shooting with elephant, as soon as we realized that it was possible in Bentota. It is probably one of the rarest elephants in the world that comes to beach and you can ride it. So we arranged the shooting on our last day in Sri Lanka. The elephant came to the beach at 9:30am, when we started the shooting Aylin became very sleepy and started to cry, so we have only few pictures with her and elephant and she is crying on both of them. So I went to put her to sleep, unfortunately the timing was bad, and the elephant was at the beach just for us , and we could not change the timing. Now she is very happy when she sees the pictures with the elephant. When she tells me: „mommy muu-muu“ I know I need to show her the pictures. To sum it up, travelling with children is always a good idea. Our baby is now 22 months old and she has already swum in two oceans. So hopefully we will carry on to travel together and explore the new cities. In the end, memories are the only thing we shall carry with us.
